Andreea Nica is a freelance writer, media strategist, and scholar. She is the Founder of OrganiCommunications, empowering purpose-driven organizations and social enterprises in strategic media and content development ventures. Before launching OrganiCommunications, she worked as a Corporate Communications Professional in the UK and U.S. in the publishing and events industry.
She has been interviewed on “The Alan Colmes Show” Fox News Radio discussing her Salon article: “How I left the purity movement” and “The Jesse Lee Peterson Show” regarding her Mic article: Can Religion Ever Be Good for Women? She received a “Hugo House Scholarship” to advance her work in progress memoir, Freeligious™, focused on her transition from the Evangelical church.
Andreea gained a foothold in the media industry through her work for Clear Channel Communications, Mix 96.9; CBS Channel 5 News Affiliate; and 92.9 KAFF Radio, GuyAnn Corporation. A long-standing egalitarian and activist, she has worked with human rights and women’s organizations within the United States, Romania, and Mexico.
She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology at Portland State University with research interests in immigration, religion, and public policy. She holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Communications, with a focus on Gender and Culture, as well as a B.A. in Psychology with a dual minor in Media and PR from Northern Arizona University.
