She is the co-author of a Media Matters report “Single Issue Syndrome: How Sunday Shows Undermine Hispanic Inclusion” which is an in-depth look into how Sunday political shows often exclude Hispanic voices and simultaneously reduce Latino voters to a single-issue voting bloc. Her additional Media Matters publications can be found here.

Her work has been featured by Los Angeles Times, La Opinion, MSNBC’s Changing America, Latino Rebels, Elite Daily, AfroPunk, Huffington Post, and The Center for New Community’s Imagine 2050. She has also appeared on WBAI’s Morning Show with Ed Morales.

Jess also served on the board of Students Active For Ending Rape (SAFER) -- a national campus sexual violence prevention organization – where she coordinated teach-in workshops to mobilize student activists and their allies to fight for more inclusive policy practices.

Jess received a B.A. from Williams College in History with a concentration in Africana Studies in 2012 and is a proud PREP9 alumna.
