Nancy Libin is a partner at Jenner & Block LLP, a Washington, D.C. law firm, where she focuses on privacy law, cybersecurity, and related technology policy issues. She previously served as the Chief Privacy and Civil Liberties Officer of the U.S. Department of Justice, where her portfolio focused on the intersection of privacy, technology, national security, and law enforcement.
Before joining the Justice Department, she served as Counsel to then-Senator Joe Biden on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she worked on a range of issues, including electronic surveillance, national security, and constitutional law. She also worked on digital privacy, Internet policy, and consumer data protection as a Counsel at the Center for Democracy and Technology.
She has analyzed privacy issues on CNN’s The Situtation Room, NPR’s All Things Considered, PBS’s Nightly News Report, and other syndicated and local radio programs. She also has written scholarly articles on privacy and Internet policy for the Harvard Law and Policy Review and Columbia Business Law Journal, and she has spoken on privacy issues at conferences in the U.S. and abroad. She is a graduate of Harvard University and Georgetown Law.
