Sarah is a journalist and writer specializing in gender, activism, and popular culture.

Some of her unique sub-specialties include: gender in Occupy and other social movements; the politics of education from public schools to ivory tower; the intersection of pop culture and protest culture;  abortion and teen sexuality on the big and small screens; Twilight, The Hunger Games and YA literature; discrimination in the highbrow literary world and the VIDA count ; Iconic female literary figures (such as Austen, Woolf and the Brontes) and their cultural legacy.
