Jane Arraf serves as GlobalPost Regional Editor for the Middle East. Arraf is Iraq correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor newspaper and has covered the Middle East since 1991. She was CNN's Baghdad bureau chief and senior Baghdad correspondent between 1998 and 2005. In the late 1990s she was the only Western correspondent permanently based in Iraq. She also served as CNN's Istanbul bureau chief. Arraf was previously based for Reuters in Montreal, New York, Amman, Jordan and Washington, D.C., where she covered the White House, Congress and the Treasury department for Reuters Financial Television.

Arraf was the 2005-2006 Edward R. Murrow Press Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and later a senior adjunct fellow. She has also reported extensively for NBC News. Her work has appeared in magazines and on NPR's "All Things Considered." Arraf has also reported from India, Afghanistan, Haiti, Bosnia and the Persian Gulf.
